the thunder cave

at the loch ard gorge site

port campbell NATIONAL PARK, VICTORIA

don’t jump when you hear the thunder clap

it’s just mother nature showing off

This corridor of water directs the ocean’s waves into a cul-de-sac ending with a spectacular show of its power in sight & sound.

On a fine day the water colour is divine as it gently ebs & flows into the walls of the Thunder Cave, but on a rough or stormy day it crashes into the cave ending with a loud deep booom!

Walking the Thunder Cave pathway you can view to the right huge rolling sea waves coming into shore at the Sherbrooke River entrance.
